Jasmail Sihota holds a B.A. in English, History, and Political Science; and an M.A. with concentration in English, American and Greek literature, including courses in Practical Literary Criticism. She has spent time studying Canadian literature, taking several courses in this subject. In addition to these degrees, Jasmail has also earned a Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University.

Prior to joining the English Department at North Island College, Jasmail taught ESL while completing a TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) program; taught English Communication and Composition; and also worked as an itinerant school teacher in Campbell River. Teaching English and English literature are both a passion and a blessing for Jasmail.

When time permits, Jasmail indulges in works of literary giants from whom what she’s learnt has been her greatest accomplishment in learning, and has helped her with not only becoming the teacher she is, but also in striving to become a good human being. When teaching, Jasmail derives great pleasure through learning as a teacher to become a student – to learn from those wonderful teaching experiences and the students she teaches.
